Duratone was a brand of plastic-coated playing cards popular during the mid-20th century. Plastic-coated cards were advertised as:

• Longer lasting

• Easier to shuffle

• More resistant to soil and moisture

• Ideal for bridge and canasta

The gold-tone presentation case and decorative artwork are very characteristic of the 1950s-1960s era.
